Bravo is doing everything in its power to redeem the lackluster Real Housewives of Miami, which was a complete dud until the live reunion aired on WWHL. In fact, one could probably credit firecracker Adriana de Moura going head-to-head with former castmates Larsa Pippen and Christy Rice at that reunion for the network’s decision to bring back the floundering series.RELATED: Meet Karent Sierra: dentist, actress, model & yet another "Real" Housewife of Miami
Adriana is speaking out about what went wrong last year and explaining why this year will be a whole lot more action-packed. If that doesn’t smell of fabricated drama, I don’t know what does!
Adriana confirms the second season has been filming for a couple of weeks now and with a new production company things are going to be much spicier! “I always knew we would come back. Miami is such a destination that everyone wants to be a part of. We just needed the right elements to make it right. I knew given the right direction, right people and support, it was going to be a home run,” The ever-confident Adriana tells the NewTimes Miami. “I think we are in for the best season yet.”
As for why last season was as bland as can be, she blames two factors (ahem… Christ and Larsa). “I don’t want to point fingers. I think there were two people that ruined our chemistry. When people are dampers, it’s hard to make things happen. They affected the whole season.”
Adriana is well aware that her “performance” at the live reunion was the high point of the dismal season of Larsa talking about her nannies and she isn’t afraid to take credit where credit is due! “I am as real as they come. At the reunion, I was just fed up,” she explains.
“People just sat around, criticized and just brought the whole season down. I don’t deal with that whole mean girl, high school attitude. If you are going to criticize, at least bring it.”
One way Bravo is amping up the new season is by adding new castmates. Adriana confirms there are new additions. “We have a handful of new girls. Let’s say, more than two, less than five,” she teases. “We had half of Miami trying to get on this show after season one. I am proud to be a part of it.”
Rumors have already circulated that Joanna Krupa and Lisa Hochstein will join the cast after they were spotted filming scenes for the series. And now, rumors are circulating that Karent Sierra will be added!
Karent is a model, actress, spokesperson and… a dentist! Has there ever been a doctor among the Housewives? According to the Miami Herald, Dr. Karent Sierra–a Colgate Spokesperson who has a passion for being in the public eye–will be joining the ladies, and she is all about proving that she isn’t a famewhore with a low IQ! I guess she did make it through dental school…
Karent is also not a housewife! The dentist to the stars who boasts an impressive clientele among the Miami élite, is still very single, although she has been linked to actor Rodolfo Jimenez. Karent will be joining the line-up with her BFF (think a Lawrence Washington) who will be her partner in crime this season, Miami party-animal and nightlife regular Beau Beasley; who was spotted out with her Saturday night where she dished about joining the cast!
Interestingly, Karent already confirms she was put to the test in some pretend drama when the other ladies gave her the third degree over joining the show for the wrong reasons. Um… why else would anyone join a reality show if they weren’t, you know, interested in being in the public eye. Apparently the fact that Karent came into things with a publicist and is a doctor didn’t sit well with the other girls.
Karent, a former beauty queen who was a first runner-up in the 1993 Miss Florida USA pageant, isn’t worried about it though – she claims she has no plans to get into a trashy altercation and instead will “just kill ‘em with kindness!” We’ll see about that… Further confirming that Karent is joining the cast is a photo of her with the ladies of RHOM at the Southbeach Wine & Food Festival last month.
